Dalkieth County Park

The house is in the Dalkieth County Park which is really the estate. I thought you would like to see a bit of the beautiful park we live in and have to walk by on our way to town.

This is the drive way leading away from the house and towards town. There is a speed bump ahead. The are called humps or ramps.

This is the sign you see once you enter the park showing you where the estate office is and the WIS program.

This is the Episcopal church that sits on the estate. It was built by the 5th Duke of Buccleuch. He was in love with a girl from England, but she wouldn't marry him because there wasn't anywhere that she could worship in Dalkieth. So the Duke built the church and they were married. Later on she converted to Roman Catholicism. =)

It is really beautiful

This is just past the church looking down High St. (the main street running through town).
This is out on the driveway in the picture from above looking at the church.

The driveway leading onto High Street.
The corner of death! It is hard to get across right here because people whizz around fairly fast and it is hard to see what is coming when you are standing on it.
Looking back at the driveway. The post box is right behind me.
The post box is on the left, red, and is set into the wall.
Looking down High St.

I got a kick out of this. This sign is posted at the end of the driveway because there is so much space.

  3. Jerry would say "couldn't drive a truck here" =)! Not sure what you see coming from the chimneys. No one is burning much yet. They used coal up untill 10 years or so ago. I'm glad they don't.
